Four Women's Basketball Players Earn All-Conference Honors Including Newcomer of the Year

Dodge City women's basketball finished second in the KJCCC and has been ranked in the Top 10 all season, recording a 26-5 record and 20-4 in the KJCCC. For four straight years, the Conqs have won 26+ games and 19+ KJCCC games.

The performance this season of four Conquistadors earned them recognition from the conference with all-conference honors and more. Manuela Piljevic was named KJCCC Newcomer of the Year and earned first-team All-KJCCC, while Savi Mi joined her on the first-team All-KJCCC list. Jolie Mantz earned second-team All-KJCCC and Jade Célérier picked up honorable mention All-KJCCC honors.

Piljevic transferred to Dodge City and jumped into the starting lineup, and was an impact player from the start of the season, earning Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-KJCCC honors. The Australia native played in all 31 games with 30 starts and led Conqs in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game on 47.4% shooting and 38.5% from three-point range, while also shooting 85.7% from the free throw line. She added a team-best 6.2 rebounds per game, while also recording 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She ranks in the Top 10 in the KJCCC in PPG, total points, three-point field goal percentage, made three-pointers (74), and made field goals (161).

Mi returned after making an impact as a freshman and jumped into a bigger role for the Conqs, earning her first-team All-KJCCC honors, playing in all 31 games. The Taiwan native averaged 12.8 points per game on 51.1% shooting and 45.2% shooting from three-point range, while adding 3.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. She leads the KJCCC in three-point field goal percentage and APG, while ranking third in total assists (129), and Top 10 in three-pointers (66), and field goal percentage.

Mantz transferred to Dodge City and made an immediate impact, playing in all 31 games and earning second-team All-KJCCC honors. She averaged 11 points per game on 36.8% shooting, including 35.1% from three-point range, while adding 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. She leads the KJCCC in made three-pointers with 88 on the season.

Célérier picked up honorable mention All-KJCCC honors after playing in all 31 games for the Conqs. She averaged 7.1 points per game on 47.3% shooting while adding three rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. She ranks in the Top 10 in the KJCCC in steals (72), SPG, assists (118), and APG.

The Conqs in five seasons under Head Coach Landon Steele have had 19 all conference honorees, along with three Newcomer of the Year award winners.

Conqs now await the announcement of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament bracket to see if they have earned an at-large bid to Nationals, which is set for March 24th-31st in Lake Charles, Louisiana, at McNeese State University. The NJCAA will reveal the bracket and announce the teams on Monday, March 16th, at 4:00 pm on the NJCAA Network.
