Women's Basketball Caps Season in Second Round of National Tournament

Dodge City women's basketball season came to an end with a tough second-round loss at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, falling 96-56 against College of Southern Idaho.

The Conquistadors, with the loss, capped the season at 27-6 overall, marking their fourth straight year at the national tournament and third consecutive year with at least one win at the tournament. The 27 wins mark four consecutive years with 27 or more wins for the program.

Back and forth early to open the game, the Conqs worked to a 10-8 advantage on a Savi Mi three-pointer, but Southern Idaho answered with a small 6-0 run to take control, and the lead made its way to as high as eight in the first quarter. The deficit for the Conqs expanded in the second quarter after Southern Idaho opened the quarter with a 15-5 run, ultimately leading to a 38-26 lead for CSI. Looking to come out of halftime strong, the Conqs saw CSI have a blistering hot shooting quarter, hitting 15-20 shots to score 36 in the quarter as the frame was 36-12 in favor of Southern Idaho. The Conqs were unable to make a push, finishing out the season with a 96-56 loss.

Conqs shot just 36.2% in the contest while CSI shot 52.7% for the contest and netted 10 three-pointers while out-rebounding the Conqs 45-19. The turnovers were also an issue for the Conqs, with 17 in the matchup.

Mi once again led the Conqs, scoring 21 points on 7-14 shooting while adding five rebounds and five assists. Saje Evans and Jolie Mantz each chipped in seven points.

The Conqs close out the 2025-26 season with a 27-6 record, earning a spot at the NJCAA DI National Tournament for the fourth straight year.
