Dodge City men's golf started the fall season with a second-place finish at the Central Kansas Classic, led by four Top 10 individual performances at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, Kansas.
The Conquistadors would put together a three-round team score of 858 (+18), finishing nine strokes out of first place. The Conqs posted team rounds of 285, 284, and 289 over the two days of action.
Leading the way for the Conqs was the performance of
Drew Heinz, who earned a third-place finish with a score of 212 (+2). He would card a one under par 69 in the first round and even par 70 in the second round, while wrapping up the tournament with a 73.
Aidan Robinson and
Joao Iglesias tied for fourth place out of 65 golfers as they finished with a 214 (+4) score each. Robinson posted rounds of 71, 71, and 72, while Iglesias shot rounds of 72, 72, and 70.
Panyapat Khantiyoo started his Conq career by finishing 10th with a score of 217 (+7) as he carded a 77 to start the tournament, but finished strong with rounds of one-under 69 and 71.
A score of 221 (+11) earned
Prakrit Jumpla a 17th-place finish as he posted rounds of 75, 71, and 75, while Jake Egan finished 21st behind a score of 222 (+12), carding rounds of 73, 75, and 74.
Finishing out the Conq performances was
AJ Peters, who placed 29th with a 226 (+16) score, recording rounds of 75, 78, and 73.
The fall season continues for the Conqs next week on September 22nd-23rd as they travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to compete at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Showcase hosted by Iowa Western CC at Bent Tree Golf Course.
