Game 1 – Lost 12-11 at KCK
The contest would open with a quiet start to the game offensively for the Conqs, going down in order in the first two innings, while KCK took the initial lead, scoring three in the bottom of the second. In the third, the Conqs worked the bases loaded on a pair of walks and a single, and

In the bottom of the fifth, KCK swung the lead back their way, scoring three runs to carry a 7-4 lead into the sixth. The sixth inning saw KCK extend their lead, going up 9-4, but the Conqs countered in the seventh, getting a run back only to again see KCK score in the bottom of the seventh and lead 10-5 after seven innings. A
Juan Concepcion solo home run in the eighth made it a four-run game, but KCK would hit a home run in the eighth, also, and tack on another run to lead 12-6. Down to the final three outs of the game, the resilient Conqs would continue to fight. After a groundout to open the inning, the Conqs got a walk and back-to-back singles to load the bases, then Warrillow delivered an RBI single to make it 12-7. A lineout was corralled by KCK for the second out, but the Conqs continued to fight as Concepcion would have an RBI single, followed by a
Freddy Oquendo two-RBI single, and then a
Ben Longoria RBI single, making it a one-run game at 12-11. The Conqs would roll out a ground out in the next at bat to cap the game and end the comeback attempt, falling 12-11.
Warrillow led the Conqs offense, going 3-5 with five RBI, a home run, and two runs scored.
