Dodge City softball team had a 14-win improvement from 2024 to 2025, finishing 27-28 on the season and 18-14 in KJCCC to finish fifth in the KJCCC. The Conqs recorded their most wins since 2005 and a winning record in KJCCC play for the first time since 2019.
A quartet of Conquistadors earned KJCCC All-Conference honors for their great play on the season, as
Whitley Cash,
Karen Galaviz,
Elly Tancayo, and
Riley Moore each earned honorable mention honors.
Cash picked up the honorable mention All-KJCCC honors at utility as she was back and forth between right field and catcher in the lineup for Conqs, playing in all 55 games this season. She finished the season hitting .396 with 67 hits, 54 RBI, 14 walks, 19 doubles, a triple, 13 home runs, and 46 runs scored. She led the team in RBI, doubles, and home runs, while also finishing in the top 10 in school history in single-season doubles, home runs, and RBI, and ranks in the top 10 in school history in career home runs.
Galaviz got the nod for honorable mention All-KJCCC honors in the outfield, playing in centerfield for all 55 games for the Conqs. For the season, Galaviz finished with a .383 batting average with 69 hits, 35 RBI, 14 walks, 13 doubles, a triple, three home runs, 47 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases. She led the team in hits and finished ranked in the top 10 in single-season hits in school history.
Tancayo anchored the shortstop spot for the Conqs, playing in all 55 games this season and earning honorable mention All-KJCCC honors in the infield. She hit .335 with 57 hits, 30 RBI, 27 walks, 11 doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 46 runs scored. She finished the season strong and earned Region 6 All-Tournament team honors for her performance in the Region 6 Tournament.
Moore locked down the left side of the infield for the Conqs with Tancayo as she played third base, suiting up for 52 of the games, and earned All-KJCCC honors in the infield. On the season, Moore finished with a .333 batting average with 48 hits, 33 RBI, 17 walks, 10 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 49 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases. She led the team in runs scored and finished in the top 10 in a single season in school history.
Year two under Head Coach,
Mike Viramontez, saw a 14-win improvement from the previous season as the Conqs look to continue to build moving forward, finishing 27-28 for the 2025 season.
