After a 3-1 start to the season, the Dodge City softball team has earned some recognition in the KJCCC as Karli George was selected as KJCCC Division I Pitcher of the Week after her performance for the Conquistadors in a 3-1 win over #13 McCook. 
 
George was inside the circle for the Conqs in game two of the season-opening doubleheader against #13 McCook and went the distance, tossing all seven innings in the 3-1 win. George, alongside the Conqs' defense, surrendered only one run to McCook, as she gave up just five hits and two walks, while striking out seven. 
 
The freshmen also had an impact at the plate for the Conqs as she hit .364 playing in three of the four games to open the season. She recorded four hits, five RBI, a walk, a run scored, and a home run. 
 
The Conqs are scheduled to continue the season at the Winter Blast Tournament in Denison, Texas on Friday and Saturday, February 13th-14th, and are slated to play four ranked teams.
