Women's Golf Finishes Seventh at NJCAA Nationals - Behind Fourth Place by Gaemphuang Ketrahong

For the second straight year, the Dodge City women's golf team capped the year with a seventh-place finish at the NJCAA Division I National Championship. 
 
The Conquistadors competed in their home state and just west of Dodge City, at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City for the four-day national tournament. The Conqs with a team score of 1,252 (+100) over four rounds of action. 
 
Conqs would start the tournament with a 315 in the first round and then be five strokes better in the second round with a 310. The third round was the best round of action for the Conqs as they capped the round with a score of 302. To finish out the tournament, the Conqs posted a 325 in the fourth round. 
 
Just like the 2024 national tournament, the play of Gaemphuang Ketrahong led the Conqs at the national tournament. The sophomore would record a fourth-place finish at nationals, which matches the best individual finish at nationals in program history. Ketrahong posted a score of 298 (+10) over the four rounds at nationals. After carding back-to-back rounds of 75 in the first and second rounds, she had her best round in the third, going two-under par with a 70. She would cap the tournament with a 77 in the fourth round. Ketrahong earned NJCAA first team All-American honors with her fourth place finish. 
 
Sofia Axelsson had the second-best finish for the Conqs as she tied for 29th place with a score of 311. She opened the tournament with a 78 and then 77 in the first and second round. Her best round came on day three with a one-over 73, while she capped the tournament with an 83. 
 
Ellen Wilson finished 47th for the Conqs behind a score of 321 as she posted rounds of 75, 83, 82, and 81 over the four rounds of action. Tilly Jones recorded a 63rd-place finish with a score of 335, recording rounds of 86, 81, 80, and 88. 
 
Danica Amerin and Heewon Pak both competed for the Conqs as well as for the national tournament to help account for the Conqs' team score. Amerin competed in the opening round of action, carding a 98, while Pak played the second, third, and fourth rounds, recording rounds of 79, 79, and 82. 
 
The Top 10 finish marks the fourth for the program in the last five years at nationals for the Conqs, as they finished seventh for the second straight year after winning the KJCCC, Region 6, and Plains District titles for the second straight year.
