Champs x3!! Women's Golf Wins KJCCC, Region 6, & Plains District Titles

For the second straight year, the Dodge City women's golf team laid claim to three titles after two days of competition winning the KJCCC, Region 6, and Plains District titles. 
 
The Conquistadors earned first place in Gering, Nebraska at Monument Shadows Golf Course competing at the Plains District Championship. The Conqs finished with a score of 645 (+69) to win by 16 strokes. In the first round, the Conqs shot a 334 and led just by three strokes after the first round but were 23 strokes better in the second round with a 311 score. The performance also punches the Conqs ticket to the NJCAA National Championship. 
 
Gaemphuang Ketrahong claimed the individual region and district on top of helping the Conqs win as a team. Ketrahong picked up her fourth win this year and seventh in her Conq career as she finished with a 151 (+7) two-round score posting rounds of 79 and 72. 
 
Two more Conqs claimed top 10 individual finishes as Ellen Wilson posted a score of 163 to earn eighth place, while Heewon Pak finished with a score of 165 to tie for ninth. Wilson carded rounds of 83 and 80, while Pak posted rounds of 87 and 78. 
 
Sofia Axelsson was just outside the top 10 finishing in 11th place with a score of 166 posting rounds of 85 and 81. Tilly Jones finished the Conq performances as she finished 18th with a 179 score posting rounds of 88 and 91. 
 
The Conqs now prepare to compete at the NJCAA Division I National Championship which will take place May 12th-15th in Garden City, Kansas at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
