As the Dodge City men's golf team is set to compete at the NJCAA National Championship for the 35th straight year, a pair of Conquistadors have been recognized for their success thus far this season.
Rhys Nicholas continued to rack up the honors in his Conq career as he was selected as NJCAA DI PING All-American, earning honorable mention honors. Nicholas also earned NJCAA DI PING All-District honors in the Central district, while his teammate,
Joao Iglesias, also earned All-District honors.
For Nicholas, it's the second straight year for All-District honors, and he adds PING All-American honors this year. Nicholas currently ranks 10th in the latest individual NJCAA DI rankings by Clippd; rankings feature nearly 330 golfers.
Iglesias has put together a strong freshman season for the Conqs and picked up All-District honors. This year, the freshman has recorded six top 15 individual finishes, including a ninth-place finish at the Jayhawk Conference Championship and finished sixth at the Region 6 Championship. He currently ranks 42nd in the latest individual NJCAA DI rankings by Clippd.
