Men's Track & Field Team Ranked #20 In Latest USTFCCCA NJCAA DI Outdoor Rankings

The outdoor track and field season continues to roll along with three meets under their belt the Dodge City men's track and field team finds themselves in the USTFCCCA NJCAA Division I rankings. 

The Conquistadors moved up one spot in the latest rankings to #20 and have climbed 14 spots from the original rankings to start the outdoor season. 

Several Conqs have qualified for nationals during the outdoor season through the three meets in which the Conqs have competed. 

On the track, Kasey Kopetic has qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships in Hutchinson in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.40 at the Emporia State Midwest Classic. Josue Vega raced to a time of 14:34.36 at the Wichita State KT Woodman Classic and qualified for nationals in the 5000-meter run. 

In the field events, both Brenden Carter and Deven Bolton have earned a trip to nationals in the high jump. Carter recorded a jump of 2.05 meters (6'08.75") at the Emporia State Classic, while Bolton's best jump of 2.04 meters (6'08.25") came at the Wichita State KT Woodman Classic. Tory Gethers also qualified for nationals in the javelin with a throw of 54.20 meters (177'10") at the Broncbuster Invite. 

A few other indoor performances for the Conqs have also earned some trips to nationals for Conqs in May. 

The Conqs are set to compete at the Alex Francis Classic hosted by Fort Hays State University on Thursday, April 24th, and will compete at the Region 6 Outdoor Championships at Coffeyville CC from May 1st-3rd. NJCAA Outdoor National Championships are set for May 15th-17th in Hutchinson.
