Dodge City men's golf competed at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan in the Jayhawk Conference Championship and finished third place as a team.
The Conquistadors continually improved as a team throughout the tournament's three rounds of competition posting team scores of 307, 303, and 297 to finish 907 (+43) for third place.
Once again pacing the Conq performances was
Rhys Nicholas who finished fifth place with a score of 223 (+7) posting rounds of 73, 78, and 71. He was only five strokes behind third place. His top five performance earned him first team KJCCC All-Conference honors.
Two more Conqs registered Top 10 finishes for the tournament as
Luke Shelton finished tied for sixth and
Joao Iglesias tied for ninth. Shelton shot a 226 with rounds of 75, 81, and 70, while Iglesias carded rounds of 78, 73, and 77. Their top 10 performances earned both Shelton and Iglesias second team KJCCC All-Conference honors.
Chutithep Runpajchim finished 16th overall with a 234, posting rounds of 78, 76, and 80.
Kolby Legg and
Blake Strong each finished 23rd and 24th, respectively with scores of 239 and 240. Legg posted rounds of 81, 77, and 81, while Strong tallied rounds of 78, 87, and 75.
Jack McKie finished out the Conq performances finishing 25th with a score of 243 behind rounds of 83, 77, and 83.
The Conqs will now compete in the NJCAA Region 6 Championship on April 21st-22nd at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas to continue the season.
