Dodge City men's golf teed off at the NJCAA Division I National Preview in Newton, Kansas, at Sand Creek Station Golf Course, the host of the NJCAA DI National Championship in the spring, and would claim a 14th-place team finish to cap the fall season.
The Conquistadors competed against several other top NJCAA programs, as 12 of the Top 20 ranked teams were in action. Due to the weather, the tournament would be just two rounds, and the Conqs would finish with a score of 619 (+43), with team rounds of 309 and 310.
Leading the Conqs was
Joao Iglesias, as he finished tied for 24th out of 90 golfers, posting a score of 148 (+4). He would card a first round of 76 and then an even par 72 in his second round.
Drew Heinz had a solid start to the tournament with a one-over-par 73 in his first round but would record an 82 in the second round to finish tied for 51st with a score of 155 (+11).
A 58th-place finish was earned by
Aidan Robinson as he posted a score of 157 (+13) with rounds of 81 and 76, while
Jacob Egan tied for 63rd with a score of 159 (+15), shooting rounds of 79 and 80.
Panyapat Khantiyoo recorded rounds of 81 and 84 to finish tied for 73rd with a score of 165 (+21), and
Prakrit Jumpla posted a score of 166 (+22) to finish tied for 77th as he tallied rounds of 84 and 82.
Blake Strong finished out the Conq performances with a score of 168 (+24) to finish 81st, carding a score of 84 in each round.
The Conqs now head into the break and will prepare for the spring season, looking to challenge in the KJCCC and the region.
