Former Conq Volleyball Player, Jatnna Pena Making History at Stephens College

November 18, 2025

Can you dig it? She can dig it – former Dodge City volleyball player Jatnna Pena continues to find success after her time as a Conquistador, as her two seasons at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, have featured history-making performances.

Pena became the first player in school history and American Midwest Conference at the NAIA level to win the AMC Player of the Year and Defender of the Year award in the same season, earning both for the 2025 season. She was also named first team AMC All-Conference for the second straight year and named Defender of the Year for the second straight season.

Pena and her team are 26-13 on the season, finishing second in the AMC regular season and runner-up in the AMC Tournament after reaching the championship match for the first time in school history. Stephens College is set to continue the season in the NAIA National Tournament as they will make their first-ever appearance on the national stage. They will open the tournament against #4 seed Indiana Wesleyan traveling to Marion, Indiana, as the opening round matchups are at the higher seeds on Saturday, November 22nd.

The senior for the Stars of Stephens College also broke the school record for single season digs as she has 624 on the season while averaging 5.33 digs per set, numbers that rank Top 20 in the NAIA and lead the AMC. She has 1,159 career digs at Stephens College transferring there after two seasons with the Conquistadors (2022-2023), where she had 647 career digs.

Dodge City continues to be a spot for student-athletes to not only find success while being a Conquistador, but also be a platform to move to the four-year level and continue to find success.
