Dodge City men's golf teed off for their third competition of the fall, competing at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational. The tournament featured a stacked line of competition with 11 NCAA Division I schools fielding teams and six NJCAA schools that rank in the Top 16 in the country.
The Conquistadors would finish with a three-round team score of 908 (+44), having their best round on the final day of competition with a 298 in the third round and going 305 for the first and second rounds. The Conqs would finish in 17th place as a team.
Drew Heinz continued to lead the way for the Conqs this fall as the sophomore finished tied for 33rd with a score of 220 (+4), carding rounds of 72, 77, and 71.
Both
Joao Iglesias and
Jacob Egan finished with a score of 226 (+10) each to tie for 63rd place at the tournament. Iglesias had his best round in the first round, shooting a 72, and then posted a 77 in the second and third rounds, while Egan went 74, 74, and 78 for the tournament.
Panyapat Khantiyoo shot a 232 (+16) to finish tied for 91st, carding rounds of 78, 74, and 80, while
Prakrit Jumpla shot a 233 (+17) to finish 93rd, posting rounds of 83, 77, and 73.
Aidan Robinson closed out the Conq performances, finishing 101st with a score of 240 (+24) after shooting rounds of 83, 80, and 77.
Conqs are back in action next week when they travel to Wichita, Kansas, to compete at the Falcon Cup Classic hosted by Friends University at the Auburn Hills Golf Course.
