History continued to be written for the Dodge City women's basketball program last year as they finished 31-5, winning KJCCC and Region 6 titles along with a Final Four appearance for the first time in school history.
The Conquistadors head into the 2025-26 season in the fifth year of Head Coach
Landon Steele's tenure at Dodge City and look to put together another strong season coming off three-straight NJCAA National Tournament appearances. The Conqs head into the season preseason ranked #4 in the NJCAA Division I national rankings.
The Conqs will look to replace seven four-year transfers with six moving on to the NCAA Division I level. The ladies are coming off a season averaging 76.7 points per game on 44.8% shooting while holding teams to 53.2 points per game on 31.2% shooting. The Conqs will be replacing over 80% of the offense from last season.
Four players return from the Final Four team from last year, led by
Savi Mi, who played in all 36 games last season, averaging 6.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, while leading the KJCCC in three-point field goal percentage (41.8%).
Morgan Ruff,
Sofia Ahmed, and
Ashley Lee all return alongside Mi, and all three return with playing experience. Ruff played in 26 games, averaging 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game, while Ahmed saw action in 24 games, posting 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Lee played in 24 games for the Conqs, averaging 2.4 points per game.
Three transfers will look to factor into the mix for the Conqs, including one who played in the KJCCC last season.
Jolie Mantz comes to Dodge City after playing for Garden City last season, seeing action in 29 games, averaging 11.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
Manuela Piljevic transfers to Dodge City after a year at the NCAA DI level at Albany University, while
Mailey Cunningham comes to Dodge City after a redshirt season at Eastern Florida State. Both Piljevic and Cunningham look to give the Conqs more shooting along with being versatile to attack the rim in several ways.
The Conqs have six incoming freshmen who all look to impact the team in several ways.
Jordi Perry and Jade Célérier both look to factor into the backcourt for the Conqs, along with
Olivia Culp, while
Saje Evans will also work in the backcourt for the Conqs but will be versatile to play inside.
Charlie Melksham and
Diana Villanyi will both look to contribute at the forward spot.
The season will open on October 31st and November 1st as the Conqs will compete at the Western Nebraska CC Classic against #?? Salt Lake and Colorado Northwestern, respectively. Conqs will then host North Platte on Wednesday, November 12th, and wrap up non-conference action at the Laramie County CC Classic against Trinidad State and Laramie County on November 14th-15th. The Conqs will open conference play at Barton on Wednesday, November 19th.
