Box Score Dodge City volleyball jumped back into the win column with a dominant performance on the road against Seward County, sweeping the Saints in three straight sets.
The Conquistadors earned the road win 25-17, 25-13, 25-17 to improve to 10-10 on the season and 4-4 in KJCCC action. The victory also marks the fifth straight win over Seward County in the series.
Conqs would establish control on the night in the first set, midway through working to a 17-10 lead, and would finish the first set on a 6-2 run to win it 25-17. Set two saw the Conqs fall behind slightly early against Seward County and were tied 5-5 before going on a 10-3 run to lead 15-8, and would use that to secure the 25-13 win in the second set. Set three was back-and-forth, leading to a 10-10 tie, but the Conqs went on a 10-4 run and finished off the match, taking the third set 25-17.
Conqs tallied 34 kills on the night, spread out over seven athletes, led by
Kayla Cantrill, who had nine kills, adding seven digs.
Sunni Skipps had a solid night with seven kills on a .400 hitting percentage and had eight digs.
Chaehee Baek finished with seven kills on a .455 hitting percentage, while
Amariah White finished with four kills and seven block assists.
Rayssa Da Silva had a strong night defensively with 14 digs.
After another weekend off, the Conqs will host Butler on Wednesday, October 8th at 6:30 pm, then have five of the remaining seven games after Wednesday on the road.
