Game 1 – Won 8-0 vs Garden City (5 innings)
It was the early offense that propelled the Conqs past Garden City in game one as the Conqs wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the first RBI doubles from Josie Oakley and Rylie Miller helped the Conqs score two runs. In the second the Conqs added to their lead batting around and scoring five runs including a three-run home run by Oakley. Oakley would bring in another run for the Conqs in the third with an RBI single to make it 8-0. The Conqs would see Garden City get a pair of runners on in the top of the fifth but a diving catch by Reneau Ratzlaff would secure the 8-0 five-inning win.
Toni Gabaldon was great on the mound tossing five scoreless innings giving up just three hits and issued no walks while striking out five to earn the win.
Oakley paced the Conqs offense going 3-3 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and five RBI. Ratzlaff drew three walks and scored a run, while Camryn Lenz was 1-3 with two runs scored, a stolen base, and an RBI. Abigail Zabel added a 2-3 game with an RBI and Miller was 1-2 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.
Game 2 – Lost 10-7 vs Garden City (8 innings)
The Conqs just like game one would score first plating two in the bottom of the second to take the initial lead of the game as Abigail Taylor notched a two-RBI single in the inning. Garden City however had an answer scoring their first runs of the day with a five-run outburst in the top of the third that included a pair of home runs. The Broncbusters added another run in the fourth to lead 6-2. The Conqs would chip away at the lead with a two-run home run by Emily Yelton in the fifth and then tied the game up in the sixth with a sac fly by Hannah Garcia to score a run and an RBI triple from Lenz. In the top of the seventh Garden City led the frame off with a double and would work in a run to regain the lead at 7-6. The Conqs needing a run to remain the game in the bottom of the seventh were down to their final out and Zabel would blast a solo home run to even the game up again and send the game to extra innings. The top of the eighth saw the Broncbusters take advantage of some Conq miscues leading to three runs and that would be enough for Garden City to grab the victory 10-7 in eight innings.
