Box Score 2 Dodge City softball continued KJCCC action by hosting Hutchinson for a doubleheader and the Conquistadors struggled to get the bats going falling 12-0 and 13-1 both in five innings.
The losses move the Conquistadors to 3-15 on the season and 3-3 in KJCCC action.
Up next the Conqs are in action next week as they take on Butler on Wednesday, March 13th for a doubleheader.
Game 1 – Lost 12-0 vs Hutchinson
The Conqs would see the opposition in Hutchinson grab the early lead plating a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Blue Dragons added six more runs in the second inning along with a run in the fourth, and three more in the fifth. The Conqs would have a base runner in four of the five innings including a leadoff double by Rylie Miller in the fourth and would work two on in the fifth but were unable to score falling 12-0 in five innings.
Miller recorded the Conqs' lone hit with a double and reached on an error, while Camryn Lenz drew a walk and tossed all five innings.
Game 2 – Lost 13-1 vs Hutchinson
The second game of the day would see Hutchinson take the early lead against the Conqs as the Blue Dragons batted around scoring eight. The Conqs would get their first run of the day in the bottom of the second with a solo home run by Madison Kacer. Hutchison would do the rest of the scoring with a run in the third, another in the fourth, and three more in the fifth. The Conqs would generate a few more base runners but would be unable to tally another run falling 13-1 in five innings.
Kacer was 1-2 with a solo home run, while Abigail Zabel and Sayge Salmans both recorded a single. Miller finished 1-3 with a double.
