Box Score Dodge City Community College fell apart defensively in the second half to allow for Northwest Kansas Technical College to come away with a 15 point victory in a game that was competitive for the majority of the contest. The Conqs fell to Northwest by a score of 88-73 on Saturday.

The game started out very competitively and at halftime the Conqs trailed by just 2, 36-34. In the second half is when everything fell apart for Dodge City. Northwest went on a 10-0 run to give them a 12 point lead. Dodge City was never really able to get any closer after that point as Northwest was able to make shot after shot leading to the Conq defeat.

Dodge City struggled defensively all game long as they allowed Northwest to shoot 51.6% from the field and 50% from the three point line.  To counter that the Conqs shot just 37.2% from the field and 14.8% from three. It is tough to win when you get outshot by that margin, so that is something that DC3 will have to improve in the future.

Jyrus Freels led the Conqs with 19 points. UniQue Mercy had 11 points. Kevin Howard contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Laurence Bryant led the team with 6 assists.

Dodge City will go on the road to take on Colby Community College on Thursday.
