Box Score Great Bend, KS -- Conq Men fade despite fast start in 21-point loss to Barton Community College.
 
The Conquistador men were able to start strongly against Barton. The first couple minutes of the game started rather slowly offensively but the Conqs were able to go on a 10-0 run to put them in front 13-7. DC3 would keep rolling the next few minutes. At the thirteen-minute mark they held a 17-12 lead. The Conquistadors were able to go on a 5-0 run following a backcourt violation on Barton giving the Conqs a lead of 22-17 at the media timeout. This is where it would all start to go downhill for Dodge City. Coming out of this timeout Barton would go on an 8-2 run to give them their first lead of the game. The next few minutes would be back and forth and would be even at 29. Barton would close the first half on an 19-7 run to open up a 48-36 lead.
 
At 51-39 Barton was able to block a shot from Jyrus Freels and this gave them momentum. They were able to go on an 11-2 run following that to open up a nineteen-point lead. With under ten minutes to go Barton would go on a 7-0 run to take a twenty-five-point lead into a timeout by DC3. Dodge City would fight to cut it to under 20 before another mini-run from Barton would push the score to 83-58 with 5:33 remaining in the game. Coming out of the timeout Dodge City would go on a 5-0 run cutting the lead to 83-63. The remaining 2 minutes of the game would be back and forth, ending with Dodge City falling 89-68.
 
The Dodge City Men fall to 7-18 overall and 2-14 in conference.
