Box Score LIBERAL, Kan. – The Conquistadors had trouble getting in a rhythm on Saturday night as the Conqs lost to Seward County, 84-52.
Dodge City had zero players scoring in double figures, but
Jyrus Freels and
Justice Dixon scored eight points a piece to lead the Conquistadors.
After the Saints jumped out to a 17-7 lead with 14:22 left in the first half, the Conqs were forced to call a timeout. In the next four minutes, the Conqs went scoreless, as the Saints were able to push their lead to 24-7.
The Conqs then went on a 7-0 run and cut the lead to 24-14, but the Saints finished the half on a 15-10 run to take a 39-24 lead into the locker room.
A 16-6 run to start the second half by Seward, gave the Saints a 25-point lead with 14 minutes left to play, 55-30. The Conqs then did not make a field goal for the next five minutes as Seward extended their lead to 65-37 at the media timeout.
By the end of the game, the Saints had extended their lead to 32 as they won, 84-52.
Dodge City is now 8-21 overall on the year and 6-19 in KJCCC play. The Conqs will finish up the regular season on Monday as they host Hutchinson at 7:30 p.m. Dodge City won the first contest, 72-70
