Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - Despite taking an eight point lead into the locker room at halftime, the Conquistadors fell to Colby Community College on Wednesday night in overtime, 84-79. 

Kevin Howard led the Conquistadors in scoring, dropping 18 points, while also pulling down seven rebounds. Justice Dixon, Jyrus Freels and Dayton McGroarty also scored in double figures with 16, 14 and 13 respectively. Freels and McGroarty were also able to contribute on the boards with eight and six respectively.

Both teams traded baskets to begin the game until the Trojans were able to grab a six point lead on a layup with 13:16 left to play in the first half. Dodge City was able to fight right back, retaking the lead and eventually extending their lead to eight on a layup from Dixon. 

The Conquistadors continued to hold their lead for the remainder of the first half. With just two seconds left in the half, Dixon drove down the middle of the lane and finished between two defenders to take an eight point lead into the locker room, 37-29.

Early in the second half, the Conqs extended their lead to nine, but the Trojans then went on a run to tie the game at 43 before taking the lead on a layup with 14:56 left to play. 

Dodge City was able to take the lead bak on a layup from McGroarty with 8:52 left to play. The Trojans took the lead back and held their lead until Tajae Anderson drove down the lane for a tough finish to tie the game at 71 with four seconds to go. 

The Trojans took over in overtime, outscoring the Conqs 13-8. Three minutes into the overtime period, Colby was able to grab a nine point lead and hold on to defeat the Conqs, 84-79.

The Conqs are now 7-15 on the year and 5-13 in conference play. They will look to bounce back on Saturday as they travel to Garden City Community College at 4 p.m. The Broncbusters were able to defeat the Conqs in Dodge City, 66-64.
