Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - Trying to come from behind again, the Dodge City men's basketball team came up just short again, falling to receiving votes Coffeyville Community College, 87-76 on Wednesday night.
Dodge City was able to shoot 30-for-58 from the field while Coffeyville shot 30-for-55. The story of the game came on the boards as the Red Ravens were able to out-rebound the Conqs 40-23 on the day.
Jyrus Freels was able to collect a team-high 18 points on Wednesday night while also tying the team lead with seven rebounds.

Kevin Howard,
Tajae Anderson and
Bruce Hodges all also scored in double-figures with 13, 12, 11 and 11 respectively.
Dodge City got off to a slow start as the Red Ravens were able to quickly grab a 29-14 lead before the media timeout. Coffeyville was able to get their lead to 18 in the first half, but the Conquistadors were able to cut it back to 15 heading into the locker room.
Both teams traded baskets for the first 13 minutes of the second half, but the Conquistadors then were able to cut the lead to single digits for the first time since 14:03 left in the first half. After the Red Ravens pushed it back to double-digits, a big three-pointer by
Tajae Anderson cut the lead to seven with just over a minute to play.
The Red Ravens were able to find their stroke at the free throw line and made 6-of-6 in the final minute to hold on and defeat Dodge City, 87-76.
Dodge City is now 6-14 on the year and 4-12 in KJCCC play. They will be in action again on Saturday as they travel to Neosho Community College at 4 p.m.
