GAME NOTES: DC3 women hit the road to face Garden City on Wednesday

DODGE CITY, Kan. — The Dodge City Community College women's basketball team looks to end its recent losing skid when the Conquistadors travel to take on Garden City 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

- The Conqs dropped their fourth-straight contest Saturday at Barton, 62-57. The Conqs were led by Antania Newton's 18 points, Rachel Slattery's 12 points, 24 rebounds and three blocks and Alex Johnson's 14 points and three assists.
- The Conqs are averaging 59.3 points during their recent losing streak - 17.5 points under their season scoring average.

- Garden City was nearly upended in its last contest against Barton, edging the Cougars 60-58 last Wednesday. The KJCCC's leading scorer Shala Dobbins paced the Broncbusters with 20 points.
- In Garden City's win earlier this season at Dodge City, the Broncbusters outscored the Conqs 26-3 in the second quarter to take a 50-20 halftime lead and cruise to the win. Dominique Maxwell led Garden City with 20 points off of the bench while Dobbins had 16 and Kavita Akula finished with 15.
- The Broncbusters have won 14 of their last 16 games with those two losses coming to No. 7 Hutchinson (77-70) and No. 24 Coffeyville (70-57). Garden City received votes in the latest NJCAA poll (Feb. 3).
