Box Score NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - The Dodge City Community College men's basketball team was limited to just one of 12 from beyond the three-point line in a 87-69 defeat at North Platte Community College on Wednesday, December 14th. 

DC3 is now 9-4 on the year, losing their last non-conference game of the year while the Knights improved to 8-2 overall. Tonight's loss is the only non-conference loss of the year for Dodge City. 

The Conquistadors led for all of 90 seconds in the game, opening the game with a 2-0 lead before North Platte would go on an 11-0 run. DC3 would break a five-minute scoring drought to snap the run by NPCC, but again go co cold from the field and trail by a score of 25-12 midway through the first half. North Platte could not miss from long range in the first half, outscoring the Conqs 15-0 on their way to a 45-32 hafltime lead. 

Another slow start to the second half would allow North Platte to open up a 55-38 lead just five minutes into the half and lead by as many as 27 points in the game. Dodge City would finally break through on the three-point shot with 7:16 left in the game by Mike Jones, but it would be too little too late as DC3 would not get closer than 17 points the rest of the game. 

NPCC outscored the Conquistadors 12-6 on second chance points and held a 45-33 advantage on the boards. The Conqs shot just 31 of 67 (46.3%) from the field and a dismal 8.33 percent from deep (1-12). Jones would lead DC3 in scoring with 22 points on nine of 15 shooting from the field while Josh Boutte would finish with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five North Platte players would finish in double-figures led by Victor Lewis with 24 points and eight rebounds. 

Dodge City will get chance to try and enjoy the holiday break as the Conquistadors will not play again until January 4th. DC3 will re-open up Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play with Allen at home on that Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m..
