NOTES: Conqs try to keep home streak versus Cloud intact Monday

DODGE CITY, Kan. - The Dodge City men's basketball team looks to keep its home streak rolling against Cloud County as the Conquistadors host a Thunderbirds team they have won seven straight against in Dodge City 8 p.m. Monday at the Dodge City Civic Center.

- The Conqs moved into fourth place in the KJCCC with a strong 82-74 victory at Seward on Saturday - their first win against the Saints in Liberal since 2008.
- In the victory, DC3 got a huge performance from freshman Josh Boutte. The 6-foot-6 forward finished with 41 points, 23 rebounds and two blocks - racking up a double-double in each half (16 points, 11 rebounds in the first half; 25 points, 12 rebounds in the second half). It's Boutte's sixth-consecutive double-double and 12th overall in 22 games as he's now averaging a double-double at 16.0 points and a KJCCC-best 10.2 rebounds.
- DC3's Lorenzo Dillard leads the Conqs in scoring (16.3) and assists (4.7) while also averaging 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals. His 132 free throws made this season is fourth on the single-season DC3 list.
- James Newton, who is averaging 14.0 points this season, is approaching the top 10 in career 3-point field goals in DC3 history. His 81 3s are two behind the No. 10 spot held by Andre Speed (1997-98).
- The Conqs are close to being undefeated in conference play as DC3's four KJCCC losses have either come in overtime (twice), by two points (once) or by three points (once).
- The Conqs are looking for their first plus-.500 season in KJCCC play since 2006-07 when the Conqs went 12-4 and won the West Division (there are no divisions anymore).
- Coach Kyle Campbell (fourth season) is 65-53 overall and 24-33 in KJCCC play at DC3.

- Cloud County nearly pulled off the road win Saturday in Garden City, but fell short 73-70.
- It was Cloud's seventh-consecutive loss and moved the Thunderbirds to 5-10 away from home.
- The T-Birds are last in field-goal attempts and makes and free-throw attempts and makes in the conference.
- However, Cloud is fifth in the KJCCC in points allowed (69.9) and third in opponents' 3-point percentage (30.6).
- The T-Birds have two players averaging double figures in Demonte Ojinnaka (11.7) and Aamahne Santos (10.0). Santos scored a career-high 21 points against Garden City on Saturday. He also leads Cloud in assists (5.7) and steals (1.9).

However, the two games the T-Birds played close were against KJCCC-leading Neosho (a 73-70 loss) and at a Garden City team that just beat DC3 at home last week. It's lone win over that stretch was against Butler.
