Box Score WICHITA, Kansas:  After a strong fight and big battle, with the lead switching hands seven times and a tie 13 times, the Conqs prevail and will head to the NCJAA Region VI Championship game set for 7 p.m. tomorrow, March 7 in the Charles Koch Arena.

This marks the first time in 33 years – since the 1982 season – that the Conqs have earned a place in a championship game.

Pratt came out of the starting gates hard, going up 4-0 over the Conqs before DC3 got their feet under them enough to start shooting.

The game stayed close, with Dodge City and Pratt exchanging the lead several times in both halves.  In the first half, the score was tied eight times and the lead changed hands twice, with Dodge owning the majority of the lead.

The Conquistadors went into the second half tied 37-37.

They started the second with a big jumper by George Brock, but Pratt stayed in it earning their biggest lead of the night at the 12:15 mark when they worked seven points ahead.

Dodge was unwilling to let them slide away however, working right back into the game after a long three by Brock, a quick steal by James Newton in the next possession returned for a fast-break layup by EJ Eaves putting the Conqs down by two points.

The last time the game got tied up was with 8:05 left on the clock, but a three by Raheem Watts and telling back-to-back three-pointers by Newton shot the Conqs ahead 70-63 with 5:48 left on the clock and DC3 never looked back.

After the 61-61 score, DC3 went on a 28-11 run to close out the game, eventually winning with an 89-72 decision.

EJ Eaves was near perfect with 7-9 from the field and 9-9 from the charity stripe for 23 points.  He also assisted on two buckets, nabbed two steals and pulled down four boards.

Brock closed out the night with 22 points after knocking down eight from the field including four from the arc and went 2-2 from the free throw line.  He pulled down four rebounds and posted three assists as well.

Payton Pervier tabbed his 20th double-double of the 2015 campaign after putting up 18 points and 11 boards.  He led the team with four blocks also.

Newton finished up with 12 points, six boards, three assists and two steals on the night and Watts ended with seven points and six boards.  Brett O'Neil led the team with five assists.

The Conqs will play the NJCAA Region VI Championship game tomorrow, March 7 at 7 p.m. in the Charles Koch Arena.  They will play the winner of Hutchinson and Butler.
