Box Score EL DORADO, Kansas: DC3 women's basketball (10-20, 1-15 KJCCC) hit the road to close out 2014-15 regular season play at Butler Community College (23-6, 13-3) last night, falling 95-39.
Butler was all offense last night after shooting 48.0 percent from the field and succeeded in keeping the Conquistadors at bay throughout both halves.
The Grizzlies took the first half 49-20 with a big lead to start things off and finished with a 46-19 advantage in the second half for the Butler victory.
Antania Newton led the Conqs with 10 points and two assists on the night. She drained three from the field and went 4-5 from the charity stripe.
Alejandra Esparza and
Tara Whipple each collected six points for the Conqs with Esparza and
Johlicia Williams leading DC3 with five boards on the night.
Dodge City women's enters the NJCAA Region VI Tournament as the #9 west seed. They will venture to Coffeyville Community College this Saturday, February 28 at 5 p.m. to compete in the first round of tournament play. Coffeyville is the #1 east seed and #2 seed in both divisions.
