Box Score EL DORADO, Kansas: Dodge City men's basketball closed out regular season play last night at nationally ranked #7 Butler Community College's home court. The Conquistadors fell 74-63, despite putting up a challenge for the nationally ranked Grizzlies.
Dodge City entered the second half trailing by seven, but Butler continued to outscore the Conqs in the second 41-37 for the 11-point victory.
The Conqs shot 44.6 percent from the field on the night, with a 63.2 percentage at the free throw line. Both teams struggled from long range, but Butler gained the edge from the field.
Payton Pervier commanded the court with his 18
th double-double of the 2014-15 season. The 7-1 forward collected 24 points, 12 boards and four blocks on the day. He shot 12-15 from the field for his 24 points.
EJ Eaves and
Ameer Jackson also hit double-figures in the game with Eaves knocking down four from the field and went 6-8 from the stripe for his 14 points and Jackson collected five from the field for his 10 points for the Conqs. Eaves led the team with three steals and both Eaves and Jackson, along with
James Newton, were good for two assists. Newton ended with seven points on the day.
DC3 closes out regular season 17-13 overall and 7-9 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
They enter post season this Saturday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Cowley Community College. More information and the NJCAA Region VI Bracket will be made available shortly.
