Box Score COFFEYVILLE, Kan. -- The Dodge City Community College men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking defeat in its KJCCC opener on the road against Neosho on Wednesday, but bounced back with an impressive 86-75 road victory over Coffeyville on Saturday.
The Conquistadors had five players finish in double figures and used its aggressiveness to get to the foul line 20 more times than the Red Ravens.
DC3 (10-2 overall, 1-1 KJCCC) took it to Coffeyville (6-6, 0-2) early as the Conqs built a 35-18 lead at one point in the first half. But the Red Ravens bounced back and cut the lead to 41-39 at the half.
The Conqs eventually pulled away in the second half as they outscored Coffeyville 45-36 in the final 20 minutes.

James Newton led DC3 with 21 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Josh Boutte had 16 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and two assists,
Lorenzo Dillard had 14 points, eight assists and two steals,
Jamie Rutherford had 13 points, six rebounds, two blocks and two assists and
Jamil Hood had 13 points as well.
Delshon Strickland led Coffeyville with 29 points.
DC3 went 28-for-36 from the free-throw line while Coffeyville was 10-for-16.
DC3 returns home for its final game before the holiday break when its hosts Allen 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dodge City Civic Center.
