Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: DC3 men's basketball (14-8, 4-4 KJCCC) hit the hardwood hard tonight and refused to let up, intent on serving the nationally ranked #4 Butler Community College Grizzlies (22-0, 8-0) their first loss on the season.
The Grizzlies started the game, going up 7-3 in the first five minutes but Dodge's
Payton Pervier put up a pair of jumpers to tie things up within the next minute. Another good two-pointer by
George Brock edged the Conqs into their first lead of the night, 9-7.
Big play went back and forth with an 18-18 ball game occurring with a little over eight minutes left on the clock before the Conqs put in their next lead 21-18 after a long three-pointer by
Raheem Watts.
BCC started to pull away to win the first half, but Dodge worked hard enough to close the gap and head into the second half with just a two-point deficit, 33-31.

Kyle Campbell, the Conqs came out big in the second, grabbing their biggest lead of the night 45-36 over the visitors.
The undefeated Grizzlies refused to let up however, working back to a 51-51 tied game with ten minutes left on the clock. The opposition then edged away to a 10-point 69-59 lead with 4:23 left to play, but Dodge would not roll over that easily.
At the 1:29 mark, Dodge was down 67-77, but a pair of three's by Watts and Brock moved the Conqs closer to victory.
Unfortunately, fouls would put the Conqs under, putting the visitors at the 80-point mark with the Conqs trailing by five.
Brett O'Neil took the inbounded ball for a quick three with 0.7 of a second left to play. DC3 was unable to steal the BCC inbound and with the time running out, lost with a devastating 80-78 decision.
DC3 shot 44.4 from the field after knocking down 28-63, 40.0 percent from the arc after owning 12 threes and went 10-17 from the free throw line.
The Conqs capitalized with 18 points off turnovers and 10 points off second chances while allowing the Grizzlies 25 points off the bench and 38 points in the paint
Brock led the team with 21 points after knocking down eight from the field, four from long range and going 1-2 from the charity stripe.
Ameer Jackson collected 19 points and nine rebounds for the Conqs while leading the team with four steals. He put in a 6-15 field goal effort and went 5-6 from the free throw line while adding two assists and two from the arc.
Raheem Watts had a big game with a 5-8 performance from the field, 4-6 from long and 2-2 from the charity stripe for his 16 points. He added one steal, one block and two boards as well.
Payton Pervier was one-point off his first career triple-double after adding an impressive 11 blocks, 12 boards and nine points.
Brett O'Neil worked hard on both offense and defense after leading the team with four assists and owning one block, one steal, six points and two boards all day.
DC3 will hit the Civic Center hardwood this Saturday, January 31 at 7:30 when they take on #18 Hutchinson Community College to continue KJCCC play.
