Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas:  A close game throughout, but DC3 men's basketball had the edge over #6 Hutchinson at their home court last night, putting down the nationally ranked team 86-82 on the night.

The men now stand 13-5 and 3-1 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

DC3 headed into the second half with a 43-37 advantage, putting up big numbers like a 51.5 percent from the field and a 41.7 percent from the arc in the first half alone.

In the first, DC3 went up 8-0 to start the game before the opposition started edging back.  Things tied up in the 12 minute mark with a 15-15 score, but DC3 refused to go down even a point, maintaining the advantage or a tied score throughout the first half.

In the second, Hutch outscored the Conqs 45-43, but the extra two-points would not be enough as Dc3 finished with the four-point upset on the night.

The second half started with each team snagging some points, and the score reaching a tied point at 62-62 with 8:32 left on the clock.  The score continued as such with a final tied score being at 77-77 with three minutes left to play.

It was at this time, the Blue Dragons put up two free throws to go up 79-77 over the Conqs, their first lead of the night.  It stayed like that until the 2:25 mark where both teams stood at 80-80.

A free throw and field goal duo by Payton Pervier edged the Conqs up 83-80 and two free throws by Hutch would put the score at 83-82 with 24 seconds left to play.

With 18 seconds on the clock, EJ Eaves sinks two free throws (85-82) and the Conqs put in a stop on the other end, forcing a Blue Dragon turnover to get the ball back in their court.

Hutch steals the ball back with four seconds and put up a three to tie things up, but is unsuccessful and DC3 gets the ball back.  George Brock gets fouled with one second left on the clock and puts in another free throw to seal the deal with a big 86-82 win.

Five Conqs were good for double-figure scoring with Ameer Jackson leading the pack with 18 points.  He also pulled down seven rebounds and put up one steal, block and assist for the Conqs in an all-around good effort.

Brock and Eaves downed 17 points on the night with Brock owning six assists and two steals and Eaves posting two assists, one steal and three boards on the night.

Raheem Watts put up 16 points on the night with six boards, one steal and one assists.  Pervier put in 12 points and nine rebounds on the night, while leading the team with five blocks and two steals against the Blue Dragons.
