2014-15 Conquistador Men’s Basketball Schedule Released

DODGE CITY, Kansas: The Dodge City men’s basketball schedule has officially been released this afternoon with a few big events on the docket for the upcoming season.

DODGE CITY, Kansas:  The Dodge City men's basketball schedule has officially been released this afternoon with a few big events on the docket for the upcoming season.

After a 15-16 overall record and 4-10 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) record, the Conquistadors are looking to come out with some big height and strong offensive and defensive power to start the 2014-15 season off with a bang.
First on the docket for DC3 is a pair of games in the Barton Classic held in Great Bend, Kansas.  To start the new season, the Conqs will take on Fort Scott on October 31 at 3 p.m.

KJCCC play opens up after the new year on January 3, 2015 where Dodge will take on Hutchinson at 7:30 p.m. over at their place.  That game will be followed be a three-game home stint where the Conqs will host Barton, Colby and Pratt on January 5, 7 and 10 respectively.

Last season, the Conqs averaged 80.1 points and 36.5 rebounds per game against opponents.  As a team, they hit 43.3 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from long range.

The team started off with a huge win output, going 11-2 out of the gate before dropping three consecutive wins to non-conference opponents.  That eight-game winning streak would be the longest the Conqs would put up all season.  They had big conference wins against Cloud County (81-78), Pratt (75-74) and two victories over Colby (83-80 and 89-79).

DC3 returns six including three of their four top scorers from last season.  Sophomores EJ Eaves, Ameer Jackson and George Brock will all be back on the 2014-15 squad.  Eaves led the team with 18.6 points per game after posting a 44.9 percentage from the field and was named to Mullen Sports Junior College Top 100 list.  Jackson hit 13.2 points per game while posting 51 total assists and 36 total steals.  Brock was good for 11.4 points per game while leading the team with 53 made 3-pointers in 170 attempts.

Also returning for the Conqs are sophomores Brett O'Neil, Dalton Haist and Dave O'Brien.

Adding some excitement to the roster are the team's nine new additions including two transfers.  Transfer Raheem Watts comes from Jacksonville College in Texas and stands at 6-7 while transfer Payton Pervier comes from Edmonds Community College in his native state Washington.

Other newcomers include freshmen LaDamion Keys from New Orleans, Louisiana (6-9), James Newton from Coffeyville, Kansas (5-11), Josh Boutte from New Iberia, Louisiana (6-7), Ryan Newton from San Antonio, Texas (6-4), Dadreian Tennyson from Quinton, Texas (6-8), Morgan Davis from Meade, Kansas (6-4) and Jaylen Tucker from Columbus, Ohio (6-7).
