Box Score 2 McCOOK, Nebraska: Dodge City volleyball started off the morning with a 3-1 set win over Lamar Community College before dropping 1-4 sets to Eastern Wyoming to finish out McCook CC Invite 1-1 on the day and 1-3 on the weekend.
The Conqs started the day at 9:00 a.m. this morning against Lamar Community College who they defeated last week. True to their last performance, DC3 garnered the win after winning three sets to the oppositions one. The women started things off with a close but sure 25-23 victory before dropping the second set 17-25.
They closed out the last two sets 25-21 and 25-19 to earn their first win of the tournament.
Cynthia Cisneros led the team with 20 digs while
Alexis Sanchez led with 34 assists.
Daisy Cheek also posted 26 assists in the game while big hitter
Emily Slattery garnerd nine kills and two solo blocks in the game.
Coming off the win, the Conqs dropped the first set of their next match against Eastern Wyoming 18-25 before taking the next set 25-18 to rally. DC3 then fell 25-21 and 25-19 to close out the last game of the tournament.
Sam Endress owned 17 digs while Sanchez posted 14 digs for the Conqs. Slattery worked in two serve aces and one solo block to close out the weekend.
The Conqs will return home on Wednesday, September 3 to take on Cloud County at 6:30 p.m. in the DC3 Gym.
