Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: Dodge City men's basketball continued their winning streak with a fourth win tonight on the 2014-15 season. DC3 owned the game early on, closing out with a 42-28 lead at half and continuing strong play in the second for an 82-69 decision over Fort Scott.
Dodge came out strong in the first half, going up 6-0 in the first three possessions. Both teams worked through for a 12-12 output with just over 13 minutes left. The opposition earned the lead after the run, but DC3 fought back and snagged a 23-23 even outing with 6:42 left on the clock.
In the final six minutes, Dodge worked for a 19-5 run to head into half leading 42-28. In the first half, DC3 outshot FSCC 18-4 in the paint and hit 10 points off turnovers compared to the seven allowed to the visitors.
The second half was even throughout, with Fort Scott hitting 41 points over Dodge's 40, but the output was not enough to gain the advantage. With the first half holding true, the Conqs finished out with a big 82-69 win to close out the Conq Classic.
EJ Eaves led the team with 19 points after hitting 5-13 from the field, one three and a big 8-9 from the charity stripe. He was also good for two big blocks and two assists on the night.
Brett O'Neil led the team with 10 assists and five steals, and also garnered nine rebounds and five total points for the Conqs.
DC3 had five players with double-digit figures on the night including Peyton Pervier who collected his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. He also led the team with four blocks and posted one steal.
Also owning double-digits were
Raheem Watts,
Jaylen Tucker and
George Brock. Watts put up 15 points and six rebounds. He went 5-8 from the field, hit two threes and went 3-5 from the stripe for the home team.
Tucker was good for 12 points after shooting 50.0 percent from the field. He also pulled down seven boards and owned one assist and one steal.
Brock hit 10 points after going 4-9 from the field and 2-3 from long distance. He owned three rebounds, one steal and three assists to help the Conq effort.
David O'Brien put in six rebounds and seven points on the night as well for DC3.
The Conqs hit 42.3 from the field, 37.5 from long range an 66.7 from the charity stripe on the night.
They will continue the 2014-15 season on Saturday, November 15 at 4 p.m. at home when they take on Lamar in the Civic Center.
