Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: Six Conqs hit double-digit points in Friday night's 107-54 win over Sterling College JV to open the Pizza Hut Classic.
On the night, DC3 outshot the opposition with a 49.5 field goal percentage after netting 47-95 and a 45.5 outing from long range after owning 10-22.
The Conqs capitalized on opposition errors, scoring 33 points off turnovers, 20 points on fast break opportunities and 66 points in the paint. They earned 23 points off second chance opportunities while allowing Sterling only one point on second chanced.
Talisha Presley led the team with 18 points on the night after going 8-15 from the field and hitting one three-pointer and one free throw. She also tabbed a steal and assist for the Conqs.
Azaria Nave was next fot he Conqs with 15 points on a 6-8 performance from the field and perfect 3-3 outing from long distance. She posted four assists, one block and one steal while posting five rebounds for DC3.
Hannah Whitaker, Kiewanna Patterson, kandra Gasaway and
Antania Newton all also saw double-digit points.
Whitaker put up 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds, five of which were offensive and four defensive. Patterson was good for 12 points with two steals and a 4-8 performance from three-point range.
Gasaya hit 12 points while pulling down five off the boards and tabbing two blocks on the night while Newton posted 11 with four assists and three steals.
Alejandra Esparza led the team with a season-high six blocks in the game while also snagging seven rebounds and
Rachala Ross led the team with an impressive six steals.
The Conqs close out the Pizza Hut Classic on Saturday, November 22 at 5 p.m. when they take on Bethel College JV in the Civic Center.
