Conqs Advance to 2-0 after 69-43 Win over Fort Scott at Barton Classic

GREAT BEND, Kansas: The Conqs garnered their second victory of the season tonight after dropping Fort Scott 69-43 in the Barton Classic.

DC3 owned the first half 32-23 and continued to outscore the opposition 37-20 in the second for the 26-point victory.
 
The game went evenly back and forth in the first half with both teams tied 21-21 with 4:37 left in the game.  Dodge City went on an 11-2 run over Fort Scott to close out the half 32-23.
 
The opposition tried to close the gap in the second half, but were unsuccessful as the Conqs kept edging away to keep the distance. 
 
With just under five minutes remaining, the Conqs saw their biggest lead of the night with a 30-point advantage over FS.  DC3 continued to keep the opposing team at bay throughout the rest of the game, finishing out the night with a 69-43 win.
 
George Brock led the team for the second consecutive night after posting 14 points.  He also led the team with six steals, while collecting four rebounds, two assists and one block.  He hit 6-10 from the field and went 6-9 from the charity stripe to help the Conq effort.
 
Payton Pervier garnered his first double-double of the season after amassing 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Conqs.  He led the team with four blocks while also owning one steal and assist.
 
LaDamion Keys and Jaylen Tucker were key players as well as both saw double-digit scoring for DC3.  Keys was good four 11 points and nine off the board while also posting one assist.  Tucker posted 10 points and eight rebounds while putting one one block and six good free throws on the night.
 
EJ Eaves and Ameer Jackson each tallied nine points.  Eaves was effecting in many categories as he put in two rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals while Jackson was equally as good for th econqs with three rebounds, two assists and one block.  He went 4-5 from the field and hit one from long range.  Brett O'Neil also owned four assists for a team-high.
 
The Conqs will host their first home games next Friday and Saturday, November 7-8 during the Conq Classic hosted by DC3 Athletics.  They will play at 7 p.m. on both nights.  For more information, stay tuned in to www.goconqs.com.
