The cross country season is in full swing, and the Dodge City women's and men's teams have been competitive, remaining in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association NJCAA Division I national rankings. 
 
The Conquistador women check in at #18 in the latest top 25 poll, and the men rank #22. 
 
For the women, the Conqs opened the season with a third-place finish at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic in Hutchinson, led by two top-10 individual performances. Conqs then competed under the lights at the Rogers State Distance After Dark, finishing 14^th against primarily NCAA DII competition. The most recent competition, the Conqs claimed a fifth-place finish at the Ollie Isom Invite in El Dorado. Denae Arellano has led the Conq women, finishing as the top runner in all three events. 
 
The men, like the women, opened the season at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic and earned a third-place team finish, while then placing 11^th at the Rogers State Distance After Dark, competing primarily against NCAA DII competition. Most recently, the Conqs finished 6^th at the Ollie Isom Invite in El Dorado. Josue Vega has paced the Conqs all fall with three top four individual finishes, including winning the Ollie Isom Invite. 
 
As the calendar turns to October, the Conqs are set for three more meets in the month as they will compete at the Cowley Tiger Ambush in Winfield, Kansas, on Friday, October 2^nd, then will travel to Hays to race at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open on Saturday, October 10^th. At the end of October, on the 30^th, the Conqs will return to El Dorado to compete at the NJCAA Region 6 Championships.
