Dodge City men's cross country season has been highlighted by the performance of Josue Vega, who opened his sophomore season with a pair of top-five individual performances. He topped those performances by outrunning 112 other runners to win the Ollie Isom Invite in El Dorado, Kansas. 
 
Vega jumped to the front of the pack early and separated from the competition with a runner from Butler and pulled away over the final portion of the race to win the event by over 20 seconds. He posted a time of 25:28.9 to earn the win. 
 
Overall, the Conquistadors finished sixth as a team out of 11 teams and fourth among the NJCAA teams. 
 
Four other Conqs raced to the finish line on the day as Asher English tallied the second-fastest time for the Conqs, placing 33^rd with a time of 28:40.8. Eddie Salinas Millan, with a time of 29:55.6, placed 53^rd, while Rylan Johnson finished 64^thwith a time of 30:44.9 and Jose Chavez Ramirez placed 70^th, posting a time of 31:16.6. 
 
The Conqs now have a break in the season before jumping back into competition on October 2^nd when they will compete at the Cowley Tiger Ambush in Winfield, Kansas.
