Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 At home for the first time this season last week, the Dodge City volleyball team put together a 4-0 week, starting with a win over Pratt to open conference play and then a 3-0 showing at the Victory Electric Classic. 

The Conquistadors improved to 7-1 on the season after beating Eastern Wyoming, Iowa Western, and Trinidad State in the Victory Electric Classic, giving the Conqs their best start since the 2021 season. The Conqs opened the tournament action with a 25-16, 25-22, 23-25, 25-15 win over Eastern Wyoming, and then capped day one with a four-set win over Iowa Western 22-25, 25-1-, 25-23, 25-19. The tournament wrapped up on Saturday when the Conqs swept Trinidad State 25-4, 25-20, 25-18. 

Up next, the Conqs step back into conference play on Tuesday, September 1^st, as they host Butler at 6:00 pm at the Skinner Student Activity Center. 

Won 3-1 vs Eastern Wyoming 
After facing off with Eastern Wyoming the opening weekend of the season at the Reiver Classic, the Conqs took on the Lancers of Eastern Wyoming again this time in Dodge City. An early 5-0 run in the first set, leading to an 8-3 Conqs lead, helped set the tone as the Conqs' lead grew to double figures at 18-8 and proved to propel them to the 25-16 set win. Set two was tight throughout as Eastern Wyoming led 12-8 until the Conqs went on a 9-2 run to go up 17-14 and would hold off the Lancers to take the second set 25-22. The third set was tight again, and a late run by the Lancers pushed them in front as they grabbed the set, 25-23, to force a fourth set. Conqs doubled up Eastern Wyoming early in the fourth set and, behind a 7-2 run, worked to a 13-5 lead, which ultimately grew to 20-8 and a 25-15 fourth-set win to take the match. 

Conqs continued to get contributions from up and down the roster, led by a double-double from Anete Celnova as she recorded 17 kills and 13 digs, adding three aces and three block assists. Dora Csanyi had her second double figure kill performance of her career with 14, hitting .443 % for the match. At the libero spot, Rian Muntaner tallied 12 digs, while Sunni Skipps had 15 digs with eight kills. Kayla Cantrill added 18 digs and eight kills, while Chelsea Durbridge and Isabel Lopez Usma split time at setter, recording 26 and 27 assists, respectively. 

Won 3-1 vs Iowa Western 
To cap Friday night at the Victory Electric Classic, the Conqs squared off with Iowa Western, and the Reivers worked to a lead midway through the set, but the Conqs tied it late at 22-22. Iowa Western scored the final three more points of the first set to take the lead in the match with a 25-22 first set. Conqs wasted no time in the second set, taking an early 3-1 lead that continually grew, extending to double digits and all the way up to 20-9 before the Conqs won the second set 25-10. In the third set, a 5-0 run by the Conqs to lead 19-16 pushed them to hold off Iowa Western to win the third set 25-23. A run of 13-straight with Durbridge at the helm of the serve for the Conqs in set four ahold the Conqs to fight from behind to lead 21-12 and then take the set 25-19 to win the match. 

Three Conqs tallied double-figure kills in the win, led by Celnova with 15, while Cantrill had 13 and added 11 digs for a double-double, and Delany Childs had a strong outing with 10 kills. Durbridge orchestrated the attack with 41 assists while adding eight digs, four aces, a solo block, and a block assist. Skipps posted 12 digs and seven kills, while Muntaner chipped in 10 digs. 

Won 3-0 vs Trinidad State 
To finish the tournament, the Conqs faced off with Trinidad State and jumped on the Trojans from the start of the match, dominating most of the match. The match started with a 6-0 run by the Conqs to take control and after going up 10-2, the Conqs outscored Trinidad State 15-2 to take the first set convincingly, 25-4. The second set was tighter as the Conqs pushed the lead out late in the set to win it 25-20. After trading early points in the third set, the Conqs quickly went up 16-6 and used the double-digit advantage to cruise past Trinidad State 25-18 in the third set and win the match.

Five different Conqs recorded three or more kills in the win as Celnova had nine along with two aces and four digs, while Csanyi had six kills and hit .750 for the match, adding four block assists. Muntaner picked up nine digs, while Durbridge had another strong outing with 25 assists, one kill, three aces, four digs, and four block assists.
