Make it four straight years that the Dodge City women's basketball team will compete in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament as the Conquistadors earned an at-large bid to the 2026 tournament after a strong season.
Coming off a Final Four run in the national tournament last season the Conqs and enter the 2026 National Tournament as the #10 seed. With the #10 seed the Conqs draw a matchup against the #23 seed Northwest Mississippi in the first round on Wednesday, March 25
th at 12:15 pm. The tournament will take place in Lake Charles, Louisiana this year as McNeese State University will host the action.
The Conqs sit at 26-5 on the season and finished second in the KJCCC having been ranked in the Top 10 nationally all season as they head into the national tournament for the fourth time under Head Coach
Landon Steele.
Offensively the Conqs are scoring 75.3 points per game on the season on 44% shooting which ranks 16
th in the NJCAA. The three-point basket has been a strong piece of the Conqs arsenal on offense as they average 11.8 made threes per game on 33.5 attempts per game and 35.1% shooting from behind the arc, ranking first, second, and third, respectively in the NJCAA. On the season the Conqs have made 365 three-pointers the most in the NJCAA; 57 more than the second most. Conqs share the ball well averaging 18.9 assists per game which ranks fifth in the NJCAA.
On the defensive side of the ball the Conqs are holding teams to just 56.8 points per game on 35.7% shooting and only 27.3% from three-point range. Conqs are forcing opponents into 18.2 turnovers per game.
Conqs look to regroup and make some noise at the national tournament with their sights set on a run in the 2026 DI National Tournament. (All games will be broadcasted on ESPN+)
