The Dodge City rodeo team opened the fall season, which will feature four rodeos, as they competed at the Colby CC Rodeo to start the competition. 

The Conquistadors open the year with a pair of top eight individual performances coming in the tie-down roping and breakaway roping events in Colby. 

De'oderick Fitzgerald started his college rodeo career in a strong way, finishing with a time of 24 seconds overall to take fourth in the tie-down roping event. He was seventh in the long round and put together the third-best performance in the short round. 

Keelin Faulkner earned an eighth-place finish with a time/score of 6.5 in the breakaway roping. She would be fourth in the long round and seventh in the short round. Her 15 points earned for the team helped the Conqs finish ninth as a team for the women at the Colby CC Rodeo. 

The Conqs will return to action on September 25th-27th when they travel to Durant, Oklahoma, to compete at the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Rodeo.
