Men's Basketball Duo Named to KJCCC All-Conference

Year three under Head Coach, Brad Witherspoon finished out for the Dodge City men's basketball team in the quarterfinals of the Region 6 Tournament.
 
While the Conquistadors had several strong performances during the season the Conq duo of Mynor Strong and Derrick Rivers have been recognized by the Jayhawk Conference as they both have been selected to the All-KJCCC teams. Strong earned second team honors and Rivers picked up honorable mention. 
 
Strong led the Conqs on the season with 15.8 points per game on 42.5% shooting and shot 38.9% from three-point range. He added 3.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game for his freshman season. He ranked second in the KJCCC in steals with 61 on the season and sixth in made three-pointers with 75. His 61 steals rank as seventh most in a single season in school history. 
 
Rivers in his freshman campaign averaged 13.1 points per game on 36.1% shooting and 36.7% shooting from three-point range. He added four rebounds. 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on the season. He ranked in the Top 10 in the KJCCC in free throw percentage shooting 81.6% from the line, while he was sixth in the conference in steals with 51. 
 
In three seasons lead the Conqs, Coach Witherspoon has now coached eight All-KJCCC players.
