Men's Golf Takes Second at Jayhawk Championships & Five Golfers Earn All-Conference Honors

Dodge City men's golf team wrapped up KJCCC action competing at the Jayhawk Championships in Wichita at Sand Creek Station golf course and took second at the tournament to finish second overall in the KJCCC. 

The Conquistadors posted a three-round team score of 883 (+19) posting rounds of 301, 296, and 286 with the best round coming last which was good for -2 for the third round.  

Four top 15 finishes in the tournament paced the Conqs in the action, while five Conq golfers also earned KJCCC All-Conference honors after accumulating points in KJCCC play. 

Supakit Seelanagae earned second place at the Jayhawk Championships finishing as one of only two golfers with an under-par score for the tournament. Seelanagae finished -1 with a score of 215 posting rounds of 73, 72, and 70. The sophomore from Thailand also earned first-team KJCCC All-Conference honors doing so for the second straight year. 

Arthit Kruaprayong notched the second-best showing for the Conqs as he finished tied for ninth with a score of 221 (+5) posting rounds of 77, 72, and 72. His performances throughout KJCCC action this spring earning the freshman from Thailand, first-team All-Conference honors. 

Brent Reintjes finished just outside the Top 10 in 11th place with a score of 222 (+6), carding rounds of 73, 76, and 73. Reintjes picked up honorable mention KJCCC All-Conference honors. 

Austin Goodrum who competed individually for the Conqs at the Jayhawk Championships finished tied for 12th shooting a score of 223 (+7). Goodrum had the best individual round of the tournament shooting a 67 (-5) in the final round.

Thanaphon Suwannapratheep and Luka Stanisavljevic both tied for 17th place at the Jayhawk Championships each recording a score of 229 (+13). Both guys also finished Top 10 in the KJCCC standings to earn second-team KJCCC All-Conference honors. 

Cole Streck was also in competition as he finished 25th at the Jayhawk Championships out of 56 golfers finishing with a score of 233 (+17), while Theo Juhl placed 30th with a 235 (+19) score. 

The season continues for the Conqs with the Central District and Region VI Championships at Crestview Country Club in Wichita on Monday, April 24th and Tuesday, April 25th.
