Dodge City Community College continues to amplify the experience for student-athletes and athletics staff as the college and athletic department work to enhance the experience at Dodge City in many ways with the latest being a brand-new weight room, which is now open for our teams to use. 

We've repurposed a portion of the Physical Education Athletics building on campus that was three racquetball courts which were being used for various things and converted it into a 3,400+ square foot weight room doubling the size of the previous weight room. 

We are excited to add the weight room to our facilities here at Dodge City Community College. This has been a fun and challenging project at the same time. I can't thank our administration, our board, and our donors enough for their dedication to this project. This is going to be a major step forward for our programs both in their ability to maximize efficiency and use it as a centerpiece for recruiting. Our student-athletes work hard on a daily basis and they deserve to have a facility that they can be proud of," said Athletic Director, Jacob Ripple about the new weight room. 

The new weight room is the expansion/renovation for the athletics building at DC3 which was originally constructed in 1970 and then featured expansions in 1980 and 1988. 

The new space will expand the weight room space for Conquistador athletics and update the facility giving the teams up-to-date and brand-new equipment to work with and helping them to continue to compete in the Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA. The space will allow teams more room to work with along with featuring five multi-station racks, multiple dumbbell sets, bars, benches, plyo boxes, gym compression mats, kettlebells, yoga balls, along multiple other machines. The new weight room also features a mezzanine which will feature multiple pieces of equipment along with a turf strip for various exercises.  

We are continuing to add and will finish out the weight room with a few more pieces of equipment along with some custom graphics. 

The project was funded by donations by many contributors to Conquistador athletics and we'd like to say thank you to all our donors for the weight room project.
