Dodge City men's golf team teed it up in the annual fall NJCAA National Championship Preview tournament this year hosted in Kansas at Sand Creek Station golf course in Newton where the National Championship will be held in the spring.
The Conquistadors competed against some topflight competition across the NJCAA as 13 of the 15 teams participating are currently ranked in the NJCAA Division men's golf poll. Conqs played themselves to a fourth-place finish as a team finishing with a three-round team score of 886 (+22) for the tournament.
Leading the Conqs' performances at the tournament was
Austin Goodrum who competed as an individual for the tournament and finished fourth with a -2 score of 214 over three rounds, posting rounds of 71, 70, and 73.
Supakit Seelanagae led the team scoring as he tied for sixth place finishing even with a 216 to give the Conqs a pair of Top 10 finishers out of 83 golfers in action.
Luka Stanisavljevic posted a +6 score of 222 to tie for 22nd place overall while
Arthit Kruaprayong joined him at 22nd place and contributed to the Conqs team score.
Both
Brent Reintjes and
Davan Smith finished tied for 29th place after finishing +8 for the tournament with a 54-hole score of 224 each.
Thanaphon Suwannapratheep was just behind his teammates finishing with a +9 score of 225 to tie for 34th place.
Cole Streck,
Theo Juhl, and
Cooper Scheck also competed for the Conqs as they tied for 66th (+18 – 234), tied for 77th (+23 – 239), and tied for 81st (+27 – 243), respectively.
Up next the Conqs will compete in another top-flight fall competition as they will tee off at the Big-O Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska-Omaha at the Indian Creek golf course in Elkhorn, Nebraska, and will compete against several NCAA Division I schools.
