Volleyball Drops Road Conference Battle with Seward County

Box Score Dodge City volleyball hit the road for KJCCC play on Wednesday facing off with #15 Seward County for the second time in a little over a week. 
 
While the Conquistadors held early advantages in the first and second set the Conqs saw Seward County comeback and take each set and then grab the third for a 3-0 Saints win (25-20, 26-24, 25-12). 
 
The loss sends the Conqs to 17-7 on the season and 6-5 in KJCCC with five matches remaining in the regular season. 
 
The Conqs were up early in the first set and held a lead in the middle of the set but it was tight throughout with Seward County securing first set in their favor late 25-20. The second set was much of the same as the first as the Conqs would hold multiple leads, but Seward County would go up late and Conqs pushed back to fend off set point to tie it up 24-24. Seward County would score the next two points to take the second set 26-24. The third set saw Seward County take control early and finish the match 25-12. 
 
Nur Yaren Turkmenoglu finished with 24 assists, three kills, an ace, and two digs, while Martyna Kmuk tallied eight kills and six digs. Miya Alvarado tallied three kills along with five block assists and Jatnna Pena added 10 digs on the night. 
 
The Conqs are back at home for the regular season home finale against Cloud County on Saturday, October 15th at 6:30pm, which will be sophomore day for the Conqs.
