For the first time since 2016 the Dodge City football team has seen a player earn first-team NJCAA All-American honors as punter,
Corry Wilhoit has been selected for the honor after an expectational season punting for the Conquistadors.
Wilhoit becomes the 40th Conq football player to be named All-American in program history and just the 17th to earn first-team honors.
The freshman punter helped the Conqs flip field position regularly throughout the 2021 season as he punted 52 times for 2,253 yards for a 43.3 yards per punt average which led the Nation by nearly a yard. His 2,253 total yards ranked fourth in the Nation and is fourth-most in a single season in school history.
During the Coffeyville contest, Wilhoit blasted a school-record 80-yard punt which was the second-longest but in all NJCAA during the season, also.
He was also named first-team punter in the Jayhawk Conference.
