Strong Second Half Gives Conqs First Win of 2018

Box Score WILBURTON, Okla. – Scoring three goals in the second half, the Conquistador women's soccer team took down Eastern Oklahoma State by a score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Dodge City got things going first as Cloey Prachyl was able to connect on a free-kick for her first goal as a Conquistador to give Dodge City a 1-0 lead.
 
Just a few minutes later, a defensive mistake by Dodge City gave Eastern Oklahoma State their first goal of the game to tie the game at one in the first half.
 
After halftime, the Conquistadors took the game over as Prachyl connected on another free-kick to give Dodge City a 2-1 lead.
 
Just a few minutes later, Bryanna Chavez found the net from about 40 yards out to extend the Dodge City lead to 3-1. Quickly after the Chavez goal, the Conquistadors got a corner kick and played it perfectly for Pam Rosales to put a header into the back of the net extending the lead to 4-1 with just 14 minutes to play.
 
The Conquistador defense would hold strong for the rest of the game, winning their first game of the season, 4-1.
 
The Conqs will be in action again on Tuesday, Aug. 28, as they travel to Tabor College for a matchup with the Blue Jays at 4 p.m.
