Dodge City women's soccer moved into a tie for fourth place in the KJCCC as they earned a point at home with a scoreless draw against Hutchinson.
The 0-0 tie snapped the Conquistadors' 35-game losing streak to Hutchinson's Blue Dragons, marking the first point they've earned against them since 2005. The Conqs moved to 5-6-4 on the season and 2-6-4 in KJCCC action, with 10 points in the conference standings, and are now tied with Barton in points.
It was limited opportunities that produced shots throughout the first half on both sides with just six official shots in the first 45 minutes combined. After a few initial runs offensively for the Conqs early in the matchup, Hutchinson controlled most of the possession in the first 45 minutes.
Laia Darnaculleta Rey made a critical kick save in the first half as the game was scoreless at intermission. In the second half the energy level was great for the Conqs as they came out and worked a few early opportunities challenging the Blue Dragon defense but were unable to score. Both teams would get a few chances late in the final minutes but it was both defenses that clamped down to preserve the shutout on each side.
The Conqs fired off 11 shots in the second half but were outshot slightly 15-12 in the matchup. Rey had three crucial saves, including two big kick saves in one-on-one situations against Hutchinson.

st at 1:00 pm and then will take on rival Garden City on Saturday, October 24
